Strong Regulations on Gun Sales Prevent Criminals From Accessing Firearms and Can Reduce Violent Crime

A review of 28 studies examining gun laws in America found that laws and regulations intended to keep firearms from people at risk of committing violence, such as felons and domestic abusers, are effective and reduce lethal violence. The review also found that thorough background checks are associated with keeping guns out of the hands of criminals.
