One Year Since Hadiya Pendleton Was Shot and Killed

A year ago Hadiya Pendleton marched in Washington D.C. as part of President Obama’s second inauguration. Just a few days later, she was murdered with a gun on Chicago’s South Side.

Here her parents urge state and national legislators to enact laws to reduce gun violence. They also point out that while it is easy for some politicians to forget about this cause, the millions of people affected by gun violence will not forget, and they will keep fighting.
