Democrats Increase Majority in the Oregon Senate

Good news for gun violence prevention! Democrats increased their majority in the Oregon State Senate.
Sara Gelser (D), who supports background checks on all gun sales, defeated incumbent Betsy Close (R) in Corvallis. And currently in Hillsboro Chuck Riley (D) and incumbent Bruce Starr (R) are neck-and-neck. This race may not be decided for a few days.
These results represent a wonderful opportunity for the 2015 legislature to pass background checks and other measures to reduce gun violence.
