A Lot of Gun Owners Are Not the Heroes Of Their Own Stories. They Are the Victims.

Guns are much more likely to be used in suicides, criminal assaults, homicides, and unintentional shooting deaths and injuries than in self-defense. If you possess a gun, you are four times more likely to be shot in an assault than if you do not. This article has some good facts and heartbreaking examples of these tragedies.

There are ways to reduce suicide attempts and unintentional gun injuries. Keeping guns locked up, storing them unloaded, storing ammunition in a separate location, and locking up the ammunition can all save lives. And never leave a gun, especially a loaded gun, simply lying around the house.
