HB 2298 : The Gun Lobby’s Annual Concealed Handgun License Reciprocity Bill – House Version

Position: Oppose Status: Failed to pass out of House Judiciary Committee

Reciprocity allows anyone with a concealed handgun license (CHL) in one state to carry in another state. Oregon's CHL requirements are so lax that not even Texas will accept Oregon's CHLs.

Update

January 15, 2019: Referred to Judiciary with subsequent referral to Ways and Means Introduced January 14, 2019 by Representatives. Bill Post and Mike Nearman

Reciprocity saves a few Oregonians a few dollars and some paperwork but puts the burden of an increased number of people carrying loaded, hidden guns in Oregon on the rest of us.This bill is introduced almost every session and is wisely defeated every session.SB 323 is the Senate version of this bill.
