SB 323 : The Gun Lobby’s Annual Concealed Handgun License Reciprocity Bill – Senate Version

Position: Oppose Status: Failed to pass out of Senate Judiciary Committee

Reciprocity allows anyone with a concealed handgun license (CHL) in one state to carry in another state. Oregon's CHL requirements are so lax that not even Texas will accept Oregon's CHLs.

Update

January 15, 2019: Referred to Senate Judiciary Committee Introduced on January 14, 2019 by Senator Thatcher

Reciprocity saves a few Oregonians a few dollars and some paperwork but puts the burden of an increased number of people carrying loaded, hidden guns in Oregon on the rest of us.

This bill is introduced almost every session and is wisely defeated every session.

HB 2298 is the House version of this bill.
