Good news! Openly carrying guns in the House and Senate public viewing areas at the Washington State Capitol is now banned. This also applies to public hearing rooms in the legislative buildings.
Legislative leaders in both chambers say that they consider openly carried guns the same as props used for demonstrations, and that they want to maintain decorum and safety in the hearing rooms and galleries.
If someone openly carries a gun in the public hearing rooms, they will be asked to leave. If they do not leave, they will be arrested for criminal trespass.
