Harmful Gun Amendment Withdrawn

Rep Louie Gohmert (R-TX) withdrew an amendment that would have mandated expanded carrying of guns on military bases.
Current law restricts service members from possessing weapons at military posts under most circumstances. This amendment was opposed by military leaders, who said that is would make our soldiers less, not more, safe. Americans for Responsible Solutions also opposed this measure.
