Gun Deaths Involving Children Are Devastating. The NRA Has No Idea What To Say About Them.

By Penny Okamoto, Executive Director of Ceasefire Oregon

Unintentional shootings involving children happen every week, and the stories are endless and terrible. These tragedies result in hundreds of deaths, and American children are nine times more likely to die in unintentional shootings than children anywhere else in the developed world.

This article shows that National Rifle Association leaders have no good response to these shootings, which are entirely preventable if we require safe gun storage. http://www.washingtonpost.com/posteverything/wp/2015/04/09/deaths-of-chi…

NRA leaders have even waged a campaign against pediatricians talking to their patients about gun safety, and they have fought efforts to require that guns be stored safely out of the reach of children. This is unconscionable. Gun owners should be required to store their guns in a safe and responsible manner.
