Chuck Riley Unseats Bruce Starr

Victory! Great news for gun violence prevention supporters!
In Hillsboro, Democrat Chuck Riley has unseated incumbent State Senator Bruce Starr by just 221 votes. Chuck Riley is a strong supporter of background checks, and members of Ceasefire Oregon and Everytown for Gun Safety phone banked, canvassed, and organized house parties for him.
Come January 2015, Democrats will enjoy an 18-12 majority in the Oregon State Senate, and 17 of their members are expected to support background checks.
