This bill is in response to Oregon’s Department of Administrative Services Policy, Weapons in the Workplace NUMBER: 50-010-05, which clarifies policy established in 1998 prohibiting guns in the state buildings.

Elected officials want to carry loaded, hidden guns into their places of work even though other employees are not permitted to do so.
