Year-Round Gun Turn-In
Do you have a gun that you would like to get rid of right now?
The goal of the Ceasefire Oregon Education Foundation's Year-Round Gun Turn-In is to make it easy for gun owners throughout Oregon to dispose of unwanted firearms at any time. With just one phone call, you can arrange to give those unwanted guns to a law enforcement officer.
Some reasons to get rid of a gun:
A family member, neighbor, or friend is suffering from depression.
Lively and curious children are playing in your home.
The gun is improperly stored.
You know that a gun in the home is much more likely to be used against you or a family member or friend than it is to protect you.
You just don't want the gun anymore, for whatever reason.
Since 1994, Ceasefire has hosted an Annual Gun Turn-In, with locations in ten communities in the state of Oregon. In that time, over 6,700 firearms have been collected and destroyed. But these turn-ins have been held on just one or two days of the year. The Year-Round Gun Turn-In addresses the need for gun owners to rid their homes of one or more firearms at any time.
The Year-Round Gun Turn-In is an informational service with links to law enforcement agencies throughout the state. Each agency decides how it will receive the gun, and the guns become the property of the receiving agency. No gifts or certificates will be given for turning in a gun. The Ceasefire Oregon Education Foundation will work with law enforcement agencies to ensure that the mission of the gun turn-in is maintained.
The Ceasefire Oregon Education Foundation DOES NOT accept firearms or ammunition.
Persons wishing to turn in a firearm must contact one of the law enforcement agencies listed below. PLEASE CALL THE AGENCY FIRST.
